© All Rights Reserved - Black Diamond Images Family : Meliaceae Toona Ciliata trees which do not have the protection of other forest vegetation around them are very prone to serious Tip Moth (Cedar or Mahogony Shoot Borer - Hypsipyla robusta)damage which destroys new growth on the ends of last seasons growth.This results in whole sections of new leaves being destroyed causing branching when eventually new growth does manage to establish.
