It is a low volume, high-pressure pump, and generates almost 3000 lbs of pressure on a workpiece the size of a skateboard deck. It is capable of removing all the air from the small Thin Air Press vacuum bags in approximately a minute. When the vacuum reaches adequate pressure, the pump clicks to let you know.

The top caps make up the removable portion of the one-way valve, and are a key component for releasing pressure and allowing air to flow back into the vacuum bag.
