It features 80 tines, making it ideal for whisking matcha thoroughly to create a nice rich foam. Rinse the bamboo tines by dipping them in a bowl of warm water before each use. This helps to soften the bamboo tines, making the chasen flexible and springy for effective whisking action. Shake off excess moisture thoroughly before whisking your matcha.

The authentic, traditional tool to prepare matcha, Bamboo Whisks were the utensil used thousands of years ago during traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. After sifting matcha into a whisking bowl and adding water, gently but swiftly move the whisk in a zigzag motion until frothy.
